North Korea Makes Major Troop Shift, Postures For Direct Attack

JoongAng Daily

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

The North Korean military has recently altered its wartime contingency plans against South Korea to concentrate on attacking the Seoul metropolitan region, a military source said yesterday. South Korean commanders will meet next month to discuss the change and their response to it.

According to the high-ranking source, the North’s military recently decided to do away with the so-called “Five-to-Seven” plans dating from the 1980s to adopt a new plan in which it would occupy only a part of South Korea and start negotiating a cease-fire.

“We believe the North made the change to better deal with the upgraded weapons systems of the U.S. and South Korean forces,” the source explained.

In the previous plan, the numerals five and seven refer to the number of days North Korea believed it would take to occupy all of South Korea. Under that plan, the North’s front line mechanized units would bulldoze through the South for about a week before gaining control of the country.

With the new plan, the North would concentrate its early fire on Seoul and neighboring areas, where most of South Korea’s social and economic infrastructure is located.

“North Korea would try to occupy Seoul early,” the source said. “And from there, it could either try to go farther south, or try to negotiate [for a cease-fire] from an advantageous position.”

Judge Andrew Napolitano - Immigration law will ‘bankrupt the Republican Party’

I was on the fence on this one, but The Judge has conformed my issues with the AZ law. I can sympathize with their frustration over the Federal Govt. not doing enough (anything really) to curb illegal immigration, but this law is faulty on many levels. I hope they correct the problems and pass a law that can actually be enforced and is Constitutional.

Colleague Says Anthrax Numbers Add Up to Unsolved Case

It will be interesting to see what they do now. Anyone with half a brain knows that Ivins had nothing to do with this. - Hamburgesadamus

By ProPublica

Friday, April 23rd, 2010 -- 2:18 pm

A microbiologist who supervised the work of accused anthrax killer Bruce E. Ivins explained to a National Academy of Sciences panel Thursday why the arithmetic of growing anthrax didn't add up to Ivins' mailing deadly spores in fall 2001.

"Impossible," said Dr. Henry S. Heine of a scenario in which Ivins, another civilian microbiologist working for the Army, allegedly prepared the anthrax spores at an Army lab at Fort Detrick. Heine told the 16-member panel that Ivins would have had to grow as many as 10 trillion spores, an astronomical amount that couldn't have gone unnoticed by his colleagues....continued at Raw Story

Bombshell: Silverstein Wanted To Demolish Building 7 On 9/11

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
Friday, April 23, 2010

Preface from Alex Jones: To truly grasp the magnitude of this story, you really have to read the entire article. Immediately after the “pull it” controversy, debunkers claimed there was no plan to conduct a controlled demolition of the building. Now the fact that officials were considering blowing up the building is established, Silverstein’s consistent denial that this took place is a huge smoking gun. How did Silverstein expect to demolish the building safely when such a process takes weeks or even months to properly set up, even without the additional chaos surrounding WTC 7 on 9/11? How could explosives have been correctly placed on such short notice inside a burning building that had already been evacuated – unless the explosives were already in place? This new revelation is astounding and it needs to be investigated immediately.

Legal Weed = Economic Turmoil?

By Reuters
Thursday, April 22nd, 2010 -- 7:55 pm

ARCATA, California (Reuters) - Below the perpetual fog that shrouds the redwood groves, green hills and rocky coastline of remote Humboldt County thrives a lucrative but hush-hush industry -- marijuana.

Pot pays the bills in this Northern California enclave, home to hippies and good old boys alike who espouse the weed's curative and economic benefits. The expensive trucks, bustling restaurants, escalating rents and plentiful wads of cash all point to profitable pot cultivation in Humboldt.

Kentucky Battle Tests Old GOP Home

Kentucky Battle Tests Old GOP Home

LEBANON, Ky. — The differences between the two Republican Senate candidates start at their shoes and move up from there.
At last week’s Lincoln Day Dinner in this small town located about three miles from the geographic center of the Bluegrass State, Secretary of State Trey Grayson wore polished black wingtips. Formal and sensible, they are the kind of standard footwear one might expect to see on a state official or any other politician.

Rand Paul, Grayson’s primary opponent, showed up at the Oak Barrel restaurant wearing a pair of well-used brown lace-ups that more closely resembled bowling shoes than anything one might see in the halls of Frankfort or the U.S. Capitol.

Small Towns Take On the Energy Giants

By Ralph Diermann

After selling off their electricity and gas networks to large energy corporations in the early 1990s, small towns in Germany are now banding together to buy back their energy infrastructure. Their bid to get into the energy market may provide opportunities to make money, but it also involves taking on the energy giants at their own game.
